Cindy developed Adult Latent Diabetes during her pregnancy with April. She and Sam went their separate ways in 88. Cindy moved back to Texas and started working in the Flour Bluff scholl system. She eventually became the Assistand Principal of the Flour Bluff High School. The diabetes became out of control in 2003 and as her health failed she struggled to maintain her life raising her two daughters and working at school. Her heart finally started to fail in early 2004. She was admitted to a hospital in San Antonio for care. Her heart finally gave out in July 2004 leaving her two daughters with many grate memories and a great start on life. She would be proud of both April and Heather. April is currently working in security at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and Heather is attending Nurse Anesthetist school in Tennesee.

Cindy and I reconnected at our last reunion in Alice and kept in constant touch via email until she entered the hospital in San Antonio.  I tried to visit her on a regular basis while whe was there and will always regret not seeing her before her time here was done.  I loved the closeness that grew between us and think about her often.  She was my classmate and friend.
