U.S. Veteran  

Whitney Robert Reese, USAF (Ret.), age 76 of Seguin, passed away on November 1, 2023.  Whitney was born on October 6, 1947, in McAllen, Texas to Betty Jean (Hartford) and Charles Robert Reese.

Whitney graduated from William Adams High School in Alice, Texas, in 1967. He played football and loved hunting and fishing with his mom. After graduation, he met the love of his life, Carol Caron, and they married on February 14, 1969. He joined the United States Air Force and became an airplane mechanic.

Whitney and Carol enjoyed 54 loving years of marriage in which they had four children, ten grandchildren, and several foster children they nurtured and brought up loving the Lord. Whitney accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at age 20. He served the Lord faithfully in the church by serving as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, security, children’s minister, young adult ministries, and others.

He proudly and faithfully served his country in the Air Force for over 20 years, retiring in 1989. Throughout his life, he enjoyed mentoring and teaching his children and grandchildren to fish, shoot, work on cars, and many other life lessons.

Whitney is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Grace Victoria.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carol (Caron) Reese; brother, Donnie Reese; sister, Sandy Reese; children, Michael Reese, Michelle (Reese) Dorrow, Melinda (Reese)Ramzi, and Matthew Reese; grandchildren, Rebekah (Dorrow) Rodriguez and husband Isaac, Samuel Dorrow, Elijah Dorrow, Katie Dreibrodt, Julie Dreibrodt, Lillie Reese, Amira Ramzi, Aaliyah Ramzi, and Layla Ramzi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Graveside services and interment with full military honors will be held at San Geronimo Cemetery on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at First Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville officiating. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
