Barbara Ann Smithwick Pruneda, 57, passed away August 25, 2007 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born December 24, 1949 in Alice, Texas, to Robert and Aurora Saenz Smithwick. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice. Mrs. Pruneda was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Smithwick Jr.; and one sister, Jamie Smithwick.

Survivors include her husband, Jose A. Pruneda of Alice; two daughters, Iris (Rito) Silva and Jody Smithwick, both of Alice; three brothers, David (Mellie) Smithwick of Alice, Daniel (Helen) Smithwick of Agua Dulce and Daryl (Julia) Smithwick of Alice; and five grandchildren, Celest, Derrek, Austin, Ricardo and McKenna.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 28, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary recited that evening at 7 p.m. at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Alice Cemetery.
