Patty Findley (Eldridge) - Class Of 1972 VIEW PROFILE

Patricia Woods Findley Eldridge (Patty) passed peacefully from this life at her home in Wimberley, Texas on March 26, 2017. During the past six months, she continuously used her sense of humor and her deep faith to sustain her while undergoing challenging treatment for Small Cell Lung Cancer. Patty was born on September 15, 1954 to Peggy and William E. Findley, Jr. She spent her childhood in Alice, Texas where she enjoyed playing tennis and participating in water sports. Patty graduated from Alice High School in 1972.

She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she was an active member in the Delta Gamma Sorority. After graduating with a BBA, she spent her early professional years in Dallas working in real estate, bookkeeping, and catering.

She was active in the American Business Women Association and served as an officer. While in Dallas, she met and married her beloved husband of 16 years, Scott Eldridge, a talented contractor. Scott and Patty left Texas and moved to Washington State for a few years to pursue other interests and eventually moved to Estes Park, Colorado where they owned and operated The 4 Seasons Inn and Guide business for 10 years.

Patty was very active in the Estes Park Gun Club and was an avid shooter. In 2014, Patty and Scott moved to Wimberley, Texas to be closer to family and friends. She enjoyed living on their beautiful ranch, which they shared with their shih-tzus, Casey J. and Jazzy. Patty was a dog lover and actively supported WAG Rescue, a dog rescue and adoption group. She participated in a Women’s Bible Study with her childhood friend, Debby Hill Spears.

Patty was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy. She is survived by her husband, Scott Eldridge of Wimberley, Texas; by her father and stepmother, William E. Findley, Jr. and Phyllis Findley of Alice, Texas; brothers, Bill Findley (Julia) of Bellingham, WA; Steve Findley (Eddie) of Alice, Texas; nephews, Shawn Findley, Travis Findley, Justin Findley (Miranda); niece, Sara Findley Wallace (Brian); stepbrothers, Jeff Wooley (Sherry); John Wooley (Ianthe); stepsisters, Janet Reed (David); Jody Dowley (Pat); mother-in-law, Erma Eldridge Conell; sister-in-law, Rindy Eldridge Avis; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Patty’s family wishes to thank Debby Hill Spears, Sandy and John Dunn, and Erma Conell for the wonderful care, love, prayers and support they provided Patty and Scott during her illness.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. at The Old Glory Ranch, 3633 River Road, Wimberley, Texas.
