Rebecca Nunley (Scott) - Class Of 1966 VIEW PROFILE

Funeral services for Rebecca Scott, age 64, of the Dotson Community in Panola County, TX, were held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment followed in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Scott passed away on Sunday night, March 4, 2012, at her home in Dotson.


Rebecca Nunley Scott was born on June 3, 1947, in Gainesville, TX to Homer “Shotgun” Nunley and Mildred Futrell Nunley. She graduated from Alice, TX High School with the class of 1966 and attended North Central Texas College in Gainesville. She was an avid horse trainer, gardener, loved painting, and sewing. She moved to Panola County over 30 years ago from Alice. Mrs. Scott was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Danny Pittman.


Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband Tommy Scott of Dotson; four daughters, Lisa Henson and husband Barry of White Oak, Christy Brown and husband Jerry of Henderson, Monica Vance and husband Billy of Denham Springs, LA, and Angie Martin and husband Monty of Carthage; one son, Bryan Scott and wife Mandy of Joaquin; a special cousin, Pat and Richard King of Burnet; thirteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.


Serving as pallbearers were Emmett Pickett, Sam Ishaq, Adrian Morales, Andreas Gonzales, Lloyd Conway, and Cliff Rich. Serving as an honorary pallbearer was Ray Herrington.

Libby Dabney (Morrison) (1973)

I was not close friends with Becky, but we were neighbors and her mom was my first grade teacher. I am sorry to hear about her passing. My condolences to her family.
