much college, loved it...eleven years. taught school for 32 years retiring in 2000. worked farm and ranch work while teaching, operated heavy equipment and construction, historic restoration, and doing different crafts as well as shows when time allowed. after 2000 i started the full time crafts as well as the JWS line of custom hand made knives, some furniture and black smithing 101 level using a coal fired forge, hammer on that old anvil. we live in an old 150 year historic home that has been a true labor of love, got it registered on the national registry of historic places in '95, small house but it raises kids really well and always surprises to maintain... shop out back so that's convenient.

d-hall in the attic, now that was a hoot. still to this day i wonder who came up with that idea. john nickols had an old studebaker that we got stopped by the police while cruising main street one night. that officer took out his pocket knife and popped all 5 of the condoms we blew up and tied to the radio antenna. the next day that same cop stopped us, laughing his tail off, and made us take off the bicycle inner tube i installed over the tail pipe of the car. his reason was the sound of a giant whoopie cushion was too distracting to traffic and people but we made it from dormans all the way to the rialto before he got us....again.
